How to Get a Library Card
- Bring picture proof of residency such as a valid SD driver's license or state ID card and proof of current address. If your current address is not on your picture ID, you will only be able to check out print materials until your ID shows your current address.
- Parent/guardian permission is required if under 18. Parent/guardian must also be registered for a child to have library privileges.
- We will request your address, phone and texting capability and/or email address if available.
- Registration information will be kept on file at the library for all patrons. Adult patrons (18+) will be issued a physical library card with a bar code number. This library card is to be used whenever checking out materials at the library. A $1.00 charge will be assessed for replacement of a lost card.
- A combination of 5 books, audio books and magazines may be borrowed for two weeks and renewed one time, unless another patron has placed a hold on the item.
- A maximum of three movies may be borrowed per household by an adult registered borrower for one week and may be renewed one time.
- Renewals may be done by phone, in person, on your account at our online catalog, or by sending an email to [email protected] before the item(s) are due.
Returning Materials
- Borrowed materials may be returned to the library during open hours or placed in the library's book drop.
- Fines charged for overdue materials: 2 cents per item per day for books, audios and magazines.
- $2.00 per week per movie.
- It is expected that the patron will pay any fines or for any damaged items before borrowing more library materials or renewing items for an extended period of time.
Computer Use
- Any visitor may use the library's computer network and WiFi.
- Users are required to show picture ID and sign a user policy the first time, which expires after 3 years.
- The youth computer is reserved for students in grade 4 through age 17.
- Youth must have a user policy co-signed by a parent/guardian.

OTHER POLICIES
The Gregory Public Library Board of Trustees has developed facility and internal policies which are reviewed every three years or sooner as necessary.. The board has also developed an emergency disaster plan, a technology plan for 2017-2019, and a marketing/advocacy plan for 2016-2018. A community group, which included youth and adults, trustees and staff, developed a new five year strategic plan for our library for 2018-2022. We thank all of you who took part in the focus groups and online surveys.
All of the policies and plans are available to the public for viewing at the library facility. A table of contents of the library policy book is available below.
