Yesterday was our first Crazy 8s club after school event with 20 hyper Kindergarten through 2nd graders. The math concept was polygons but the tools were 200 glow sticks with connectors. With direction, the children made three, four, five and six-sided polygons and reviewed the names of the shapes. Then we made connecting patterns. But the best part was turning off the lights and viewing our creations. Hunter and I had fun keeping them focused and watching the creative learning process at work. Can't wait for next week's Crazy 8s adventure!
