One of my favorite events at the library is the annual Christmas/Winter story contest for the 2nd-5th grade students. This year I was blessed to be able to read 109 entries. There were the usual litany of names (everyone's friends HAVE to be in the story) and the appearance of a grinchy characters, as well as some humorous scenes and heart-touching reveals. I enjoyed reading every one of them and it was difficult to pick a winner from each classroom. So I picked my top three and handed those off to another judge who ended up picking the same ones I would have chosen! Obviously, they were the best. You can find the winning stories in this week's edition of the Gregory Times-Advocate. Thanks, children, for sharing your stories with us!
