Today was Sensory Story Time, one of my favorite days of the week at the library. Bins full of construction trucks, dirt and digging tools helped us learn vocabulary, develop fine motor skills and share. We glued and glittered sand on constructions scenes and became involved in interactive stories that has us counting to ten and repeating phrases. Taking turns, remembering "please" and "thank you" and flushing the toilet were also part of our day. But the best of all is when the shy ones let go of their mommy's hand and become involved in the play, forgetting that they were determined not to take part! Thank you, little ones, for making my day so special.
